Atrophy
(Josh Campbell-Brian Weber -11/03)

Sometimes I can't believe what's been done
and what's been said
The painful lies between us
always messing with my head
The darker side of me conspires
to take its sweet revenge
But my soul cries for a little bit more
of what will make a difference in the end

There's no doubt we're living in a world of atrophy
When the truth was placed inside us
but we do not let it breathe
We can't change the world
until we choose to rise above
And we strip away life's strange veneer
to the things it's covering up
Faith Hope and Love

You feel this
You breathe this
You live this
You need this

Take a look around you
are you seeing what I see
The people that surround you
feeling lost like you and me
Of all the painful places
that are hiding in this town
The one I see is inside of me
I can feel it slowly bring me down

I'm not someone who believes in nothing
When the truths inside I know that there is something
And I need some answers but I know they're coming
If I hang on for awhile

notes: This one of my favorite songs that we do. It has a solid groove to it and we always get a great response to it live. Josh J lays down a great bass groove to kick this song off and it kind of builds from there. The song just flows extremely well from beginning to end and the melody is catchy on the chorus... As far as the lyrics, they are kind of a snapshot of my view towards life... that I believe there is a God and there is truth to be known in life. And yes we get hurt and struggle in this life but we can choose how we react and handle it all... that there are principles to live by and guide us in our lives... --Brian Weber
